I know, I usually dont write so darn late at night but there is something I needed to get off my chest, because when I sit down to write about it either tomorrow or in the next day or two, it's gonna be a subject that I never ever thought I'd ever have to write about. Yet, ironically so, some of the Hiv'ers who have gone on before me told me before they passed away that when I encountered what I will be writing about tomorrow, I will know it without even the slightest hint of a doubt. Well, they were right. I have encountered it and the "it" is a type of individual who infiltrates the Hiv+/AIDS community and literally preys on it, not literally, but rather psychologically. These types of individuals started showing up on the scene around the late 1980's to early 1990's and they were, and still are, appropriately called the "Angels of Death" not because they literally murder Hiv'ers or those with AIDS, but because they attempt to do so mentally. I know, you can just imagine what I have to say about all of that, cant you? Trust me, if I wasnt so exhausted at the moment, I'd be primed to pounce, but it will have to wait till tomorrow.
The person who first brought this to my attention a few years after I had been diagnosed was someone who was also a friend of author Paul Monette. I've never written about Monette previously in this blog but the friend we shared suggested that if I ever did tackle the subject of the Angels of Death, to please feel free to go ahead and mention Mr. Monette for he too so very much abhorred such individuals. So tomorrow when I tackle yet another piece of new territory in the writer sense, I will be taking the liberty of dedicating it to Paul Monette. My only hope is that I will do the subject justice the way Mr. Monette would've wanted it. I guess we can only hope and pray, heh? Sleep well everyone. Thank you for reading.
